The state Court of Appeals has ordered a new trial for a Jackson woman convicted in a 2007 slaying. The Appeals Court ruled Tuesday that a Hinds County judge erred in barring jurors from considering whether to convict Mary Lewis of the lesser crime of manslaughter.
